Thermische massa van beton kan warmte opslaan en afgifte reguleren, wat energiegebruik drukt.

Beton biedt thermische stabiliteit, glas zorgt voor daglichttoetreding.
Slimme gevelsystemen combineren isolatie, zonwering en lichtsturing.

Gebruik van hernieuwbare bronnen (zon, wind) en opslag om volledig onafhankelijk van het energienet te functioneren.Lokale waterzuiveringssystemen (zoals helofytenfilters) en opvang van regenwater voor hergebruik.
Geïntegreerde stadslandbouw, permacultuur en gemeenschappelijke tuinen die voorzien in de dagelijkse behoefte.
Gebruik van natuurlijke en hernieuwbare materialen zoals hout, stro of leem.
In de moderne architectuur evolueert de
